Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has become embroiled in a heated social media exchange after expressing frustration over the current state of the country and calling on entertainers to speak more openly about national issues.
The singer sparked debate after sharing a post in which he lamented the level of injustice in Nigeria and suggested that celebrities, including himself, have not done enough to use their platforms to address the challenges facing ordinary citizens.
According to Davido, the worsening situation in the country requires more outspoken engagement from public figures.
«“I can’t lie, we entertainers… we dey fuck up, I won’t lie, including me. We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go,” Davido wrote.»
