NAZE-IHIAGWA- FUTO ROAD-PH ROAD FINALLY DELIVERED.
For many years, this very important connecting outer ring road was awarded to several companies by different administrations. For many more years, the road was poorly designed and constructed. This road cuts accross three federal institutions with attendant heavy human and vehicular traffic. The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, the Police Training School and the Federal University of Technology Owerri which found residence along this road. It also found hope and great promise to my big brother, late Chris Chigoziri Asoluka, Ph.D who made passionate appeal to his friend, Governor Hope Uzodinma for its reconstruction. The Governor gave him a promise but unfortunately, nature could not allow Nda Chris to see the fulfillment of that promise. Nevertheless, his brothers such as Oblong Nnadi-Oforgu passionately pressured and reminded the government and Prince Victor Muruako who also monitored progress and of course the great and ancient Nekede and Ihiagwa people are today very very happy and thankful.
Posthumously, we thank Okwuruoha Owerri for his dogged appeal and interventions during his life time.
To His Excellency, the Governor, THANK YOU for being a friend indeed. Thank you for using a construction giant to deliver this quality road that defied many administrations.
Today, motorists and commuters can now connect Portharcourt road from Aba, Okigwe and Mbaise roads from Poly junction without having pass through Owerri Municipal to access Portharcourt road. Students, Residents and Natives of those communities will now pay lower transport fares as against the exorbitant fares paid as a result of the terrible and impassable condition of the road since 2005.
The new Imo, is indeed, on the rise !
